Teajar ("Teajar", "we", "us", "our") respects your right to have your personal data erased. This page explains what data we hold, how to ask us to delete it, and how long that takes — across every Teajar service.

There is no charge for a deletion request, you do not need an account to make one, and we will not ask you for more information than we need to find your records.
What this page covers
Teajar is a business management platform — accounting, records, invoicing, documents, and customer messaging. We hold personal data in four places. Each section below says exactly what we delete and how to ask.
-
Your Teajar account — the Teajar platform.
-
Website enquiries and marketing — contact forms, demo requests, mailing lists.
-
Messages sent to a business using Teajar — including WhatsApp conversations handled in Teajar Phone Portal.
-
A whole business workspace — closing a Teajar subscription and erasing everything in it.
If you are not sure which applies, email [email protected] and we will identify every record we hold about you and erase all of it.
1. Your Teajar account
What we delete: your user profile (name, email address, phone number, company name, role), your login credentials, sessions and any linked Google sign-in identifier, your preferences, your activity and audit log entries, and the personal data associated with your use of the platform.
How to request:
-
Email [email protected] from the email address registered to the account, with the subject "Data deletion request — account".
-
We verify that you control the account.
-
We close the account and permanently erase the personal data associated with it.
-
We confirm in writing when it is done.
If you are a member of a business workspace, deleting your user account removes you and your personal data. Business records your employer owns — invoices, ledger entries, customer records — belong to that business and are dealt with under section 4.
Note on business records: where an account holds accounting records that we or you are legally required to retain (for example tax and financial records), we retain those for the period the law requires and erase them at the end of it. We will tell you if this applies to your request, what is being kept, and for how long.
2. Website enquiries and marketing
What we delete: your name, email address, phone number, and company name submitted through a contact form or demo request; the content of your enquiry; your mailing-list subscription record; and the website usage data linked to you.
How to request:
-
Email [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion request — enquiry", from the address you contacted us on.
-
We locate and erase the matching records.
-
We confirm in writing when it is done.
To stop marketing email without deleting anything, use the unsubscribe link in any message we send you.
3. Messages sent to a business using Teajar
This section applies if you have messaged a business on a number that business connected to Teajar Phone Portal — the shared team inbox module of the Teajar platform. Today that includes numbers on the WhatsApp Business Platform operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. The Portal is registered on the Meta Developer Platform under App ID 1041746678800834.
What we delete:
-
Your contact record — messaging identifier, phone number, and profile or display name.
-
All messages exchanged with that business number, in both directions.
-
All media sent or received — images, documents, audio, video, and other files.
-
Internal notes, tags, and conversation assignments the business's staff added to that conversation.
-
Delivery and read status records tied to those messages.
How to request:
-
Email [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion request — messages", sent from or quoting the phone number you used. Include that number in international format (for example, +970 59 000 0000), and the business or number you messaged if you know it.
-
We verify the request — we confirm the number belongs to you and locate the matching contact record. We may ask one follow-up question to confirm your identity.
-
The record is permanently deleted — the contact and its entire conversation history are erased from Teajar's systems. This is irreversible and cannot be undone.
-
We confirm back to you in writing once deletion is complete.
Where the business, not Teajar, controls the data. If you messaged one of our business customers, that business is the controller of your conversation and Teajar processes it on their behalf. You may contact that business directly, or contact us — we will pass your request to them and see that it is carried out within the deadline below. Where the law places the obligation directly on us, we act on it ourselves.
What we cannot delete: message delivery is provided by a third-party platform. Data held by WhatsApp or Meta on their own systems — including the copy of the conversation in your own WhatsApp app, and the copy on the business's phone — is governed by Meta's policies and is outside our control. See the WhatsApp Privacy Policy to manage data held by Meta. To delete the conversation from your own device, delete the chat in your WhatsApp app.
4. A whole business workspace
This section applies if you are an owner or administrator of a business that subscribes to Teajar and you want the entire workspace erased.
What we delete: every user account in the workspace, all business records entered into the platform (accounting entries, customers and suppliers, invoices, documents), all connected channel credentials and access tokens, and every contact, conversation, message, and media file held in Teajar Phone Portal for that workspace.
How to request:
-
Email [email protected] from a registered owner or administrator address, with the subject "Data deletion request — workspace".
-
We verify your authority to make the request for the business.
-
We offer you an export of your data first, if you want one.
-
We disconnect all messaging channels and permanently erase the workspace.
-
We confirm in writing when it is done.
Disconnecting a WhatsApp number from Teajar does not close the WhatsApp Business Account itself; that is managed in your Meta Business Manager.
How long it takes
We acknowledge every request promptly and complete verified deletions within 30 days. If a request is unusually complex and needs longer, we will tell you within those 30 days, explain why, and give you a completion date.
Data is erased from our live systems immediately on completion, and from encrypted backups on the normal backup-rotation cycle, after which it is unrecoverable. Backups are never used to restore deleted records.
What we may retain
After deletion we may keep:
-
A minimal record of the request itself — the identifier used and the date — solely to demonstrate that we honored it.
-
Data we are legally required to keep, such as tax, accounting, or legal-claim records.
-
Aggregated or anonymized statistics that can no longer identify you.
Anything retained on these grounds is kept only for as long as the law requires or the purpose lasts, is not used for any other purpose, and is erased at the end of that period.
Your other privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access the data we hold about you, correct it, receive a copy in a portable format, object to or restrict our processing, or withdraw consent. Email [email protected] to exercise any of these, and you may also complain to your data protection authority. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising their privacy rights.
Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
